Tonight for about 3 hours my sugar was around 310-320. I couldn't imagine I estimated my carbs THAT inaccurately, but I ate at a restaurant and sometimes it's hard to guess, so I accepted it as a lesson learned. That was the first time I checked it... By the second time, I was annoyed and a bit concerned, but I checked out my pump and site and did another correction bolus, and waited to see what happened. The 3rd reading made me VERY worried, so I decided immediatly to change my site. It SEEMED ok until I pulled it out of my skin and an incredible amount of blood came out. To see my tissues, you'd swear I had a bloody nose or a cut finger from all the blood. I called Medtronic and they said the cannula probably hit a blood vessle and I need to monitor my sugar for another hour or 2 before I bolus again. Has this ever happened to anyone else?
