Kristin Chenoweth will still have a chance in the limelight as the next guest judge on "American Idol." The Tony award-winning actress is scheduled as the next celebrity to sit in as Paula Abdul’s temporary replacement on the hit Fox TV show, according to People.com. Chenoweth, who most recently received an Emmy nomination for her in ABC’s cancelled comedy "Pushing Daisies," got her start on the Great White Way in shows like "Steel Pier" and "Strike Up the Band." The petite actress, who once compared her distinctive speaking voice to that of Betty Boop, brings plenty of vocal talent to the judges table. Chenoweth won a Tony award for the revival of "You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown," and was part of the original Broadway cast of "Wicked." Chenoweth joins the regular judges, Simon Cowell, Kara DioGuardi and Randy Jackson, in Orlando for auditions later this week. Paula Abdul is going from judge to host. The former American Idol judge announced on her Twitter page Monday night that she'll be anchoring VH1 Divas next month. "Hi guys! im really excited 2 announce ill b hosting this year's "Vh1 Divas"! The show will be live on Sept 17th @ 9 pm EST," Paula Tweeted. "This year's VH1 Divas show will honor Adele, Kelly Clarkson, Jordin Sparks, Leona Lewis and Miley Cyrus- I am so excited!!" Paula continued. The show will air live from the Brooklyn Academy of Music Howard Gilman Opera House in New York. It was announced Monday that Abdul will no longer be playing a temp on Ugly Betty this season.
