Manchester United vs Everton Premier League, England Match date: Sat, November 21, 2009 Stadium: Old Trafford United need to recover quickly from yet another derby defeat since they are now five points behind Chelsea and it looks as though the title is slowly slipping out of reach. Everton, on the other hand, finally ended the disappointing run of results having beaten West Ham at Upton Park.After losing to Liverpool few weeks back, Manchester United have also lost to Chelsea and the two defeats have shown Alex Ferguson’s team are not good enough to defend the Premiership title. Nonetheless, the five-point gap behind the Blues is by no means impossible to overturn and we expect them to fight until the end. United face a difficult task against Everton, the team they have beaten in 6 of last 8 games and we expect them to continue the good run. Alex Ferguson’s men are usually very convincing at Old Trafford and you should really consider . Sir Alex Ferguson should have almost full squad available for selection with Hargreaves, Ferdinand and Welbeck the only unavailable players. Chelsea vs Wolverhampton Wanderers Premier League, England Match date: Saturday, Nov 21, 2009 Stadium: Stamford Bridge The Blues are leading the title race and they are five points clear after the big derby win over Manchester United, thus they are unlikely to allow a slip up against struggling Wolves. Wolverhampton remained in the relegation zone after the heavy defeat to Arsenal and they have nothing to hope for from this match. We have been saying from the very start of the league campaign that Chelsea were the biggest favourites for the title and they have not let us down. Carlo Ancelotti’s side are very convincing and are winning most of the games without too many problems, thus no wonder they are now five points clear of their title rivals. The Blues have been especially impressive at home, having scored 16 goals in last 5 games at Stamford Bridge and they are expected to continue the great scoring record against weak Wolves. You should be aware . Carlo Ancelotti faces some selection problems with Lampard, Drogba, Ashley Cole and Bosingwa all out of contention through injuries, but captain John Terry is expected to return to the starting line-up after recovering from injury. The aforementioned players will be missed but Ancelotti has really big squad to choose from and the team that face Wolves will be more than strong enough to record a big win. In the absence of Drogba and Lampard, Nicolas Anelka will be the biggest threat for visiting defenders and seeing the French striker is in very good form lately, our advice is to back .Wolverhampton were powerless to resist the Gunners at their Molineux and they deservedly lost the game 4:1. The defeat left them in the relegation zone, although they are just one point clear of safety and a couple of good results would see them escape the bottom three. Mick McCarthy’s side will have to wait at least until next week since they cannot really hope to get anything from Stamford Bridge. We don’t think they’ll even be able to test Petr Cech on Saturday and therefore see a good value in backing . Boss McCarthy has some injury worries but these are mostly related to back-up players. David Jones, Stephen Ward, Matt Hill, Chris Iwelumo and Matt Murray remain sidelined but the boss will, nevertheless, be able to field a very strong line-up. Obviously, it won’t be strong enough to get something from this match but even a good performance and a narrow defeat at Stamford Bridge would give Wolves confidence before very important match with Birmingham.There is a big difference in class between the two sides and this match will show it. The hosts are missing a couple of important players but that isn’t a problem for a team like Chelsea and we therefore expect the hosts to record a big win here. Sunderland vs Arsenal Premier League, England Match date: Saturday, Nov 21, 2009 Stadium: Stadium of Light One of the most interesting matches of the round will see Sunderland host high-flying Arsenal at the Stadium of Light. The Black Cats couldn’t get anything from White Hart Lane even though they played a very good game, while Gunners had an easy job against Wolves at Molineux. Sunderland are proving week in week out that they are a top half material and we have to say they were very unlucky not to get anything from White Hart Lane. The Black Cats played a good game against very good Tottenham side but missed a couple of great chances, including a penalty and had to settle for the 2:0 defeat. The team, nevertheless, proved they can match even the best teams in the league and Arsenal are in for a difficult task at the Stadium of Light. Steve Bruce’s team have been very convincing in home games, scoring 8 goals in last 3 of those and we see a good value in backing . Steve Bruce is missing Michael Turner and Kenwyne Jones through suspension but captain Lorik Cana returns after missing the Tottenham game for the same reason. Cana could be shifted to defence to partner Paulo Da Silva or he may start as a holding midfielder. Bent and Campbell are set to continue their partnership up front, while Marton Fulop is set for a long run in the first team with keeper Craig Gordon out with injury. Arsenal just keep winning and they do look relentless at times. The 4:1 win over Wolves was achieved with as little effort as possible and the game looked as if the Gunners were playing a non-league team. This is how impressive Arsene Wenger’s boys look at the moment, although the match against very good Sunderland side will be a real test. The Gunners boast by far the best scoring record in the league and with Sunderland missing their top defender and key holding midfielder, we see a good value in backing . The latest injury crisis is threatening to end Arsenal’s good string of results and Wenger has a whole team on the sidelines at the moment. Van Persie is the latest player to have picked up an injury and he joined Bendtner, Clichy, Denilson, Diaby and Djourou on the sidelines, while Wilshire, Fabianski, Walcott, Traore and Vela all suffered setbacks and are struggling to return to full fitness. Kieran Gibbs has picked up an injury on international duty and he remains an injury doubt for Sunderland clash. We expect a really close-fought encounter between two in-form teams at the Stadium of Light. Birmingham City vs Fulham Premier League, England Match date: Saturday, Nov 21, 2009 Stadium: St Andrews Stadium Birmingham continued the good run of results by picking up a point from Anfield, and a win over Fulham would take them back to safety. The Cottagers have rediscovered their form and they again look like the team that were the most pleasant surprise of the last Premiership campaign.  If you have been reading our betting previews on regular basis, you remember we kept saying Birmingham had too much quality to go down and we are glad to see our predictions spot on. The Blues took five points from last three games and the fact they faced Sunderland, Manchester City and Liverpool during this period basically says it all. Alex McLeish’s side have shown they have the quality for a mid table finish and there is no way they would get relegated this season. Therefore, we see a great value in backing . The Blues deserved to win at Anfield two weeks ago but they will, nevertheless, be full of confidence after the great performance against the title contenders. They will now try to beat Fulham and thus further escape the dangerous zone but that is not going to be easy. The good thing is Alex McLeish has almost full squad to choose from with Gary O’Connor being the only first team regular unavailable for this match since midfielder Keith Fahey has recovered from ankle injury and he will be fit to face Fulham. Fulham didn’t have the best of starts to the season as the team seem to have had problems dealing with the heavy schedule but they are now back in business. The Cottagers are unbeaten in their last five Premiership games and will try to extend that run at St Andrew’s. They are set to adopt their trademark defensive approach since even one point would do them a lot of good. We don’t think the visitors will be going forward in numbers and with Brimingham defence doing well lately, we see a good value in backing . Boss Roy Hodgson could receive a welcoming boost since both Danny Murphy and Andy Johnson are nearing their return from injuries and they could play some part in this match. Simon Davies, on the other hand, is likely to start on the bench even though is far from reaching full fitness. One thing you need to take into consideration is that these players have missed several weeks of action and they will need some time to gain match fitness. Therefore, we are not sure the Cottagers will profit from having Murphy and Johnson on the starting line-up against Birmingham. Both teams look to be in very good form but we will back Birmingham here. The Blues have been very consistent lately and played some very good football against the best teams in the league, while Alex McLeish is able to field a full strength team unlike his counterpart. Hull City vs West Ham United Premier League, England Match date: 21 November, 2009 Stadium: Kingston Communications Stadium Phil Brown saved his job with the win over Stoke and he thus led the Tigers out of the bottom three. His side now need a couple of good results in a row but we are yet to see how they will fare in this match. The Hammers couldn’t build on the midweek win over Aston Villa and lost at home to Everton, with the defeat leaving them in the relegation zone. Even though it looked as though it was only a matter of time before Phil Brown got sacked, the boss managed to save his job with an impressive win over always tough to beat Stoke side and he now aims to continue the good run. The hosts will not have an easy job against underperforming West Ham and seeing this is a relegation derby, they will first make sure not to concede since the defeat could prove too costly. Hull failed to score in three of their last five home games and their misfiring strikers will not have an easy job against West Ham. Therefore, we see a good value in backing . The good thing for Phil Brown is that he has almost no injury worries with the only player sure to miss out being a long term casualty Ian Ashbee. First choice keeper Boaz Myhill faces a race to be fit but Matt Duke has done a great job in his absence and he will be ready if called upon. Jimmy Bullard has hit the ground running immediately after recovering from injury and together with Geovanni, who returns after serving suspension, will be main creative force for the hosts.  West Ham fans believed the win over Aston Villa would kick-start their season but that simply did not happen. The Hammers lost the next match at home to Everton and it’s back to the drawing board. Gianfranco Zola needs to do something to make the players wake up and smell the coffee since few more poor results would mean West Ham are a serious contender for the drop. The visitors are likely to adopt a cautious approach but if things don’t work out, they will attack the opponents in the second half. This team have got enough attacking potential and they’ve been scoring quite a few goals lately, thus you should consider backing . The situation with injuries is improving and boss Zola will have much stronger squad at his disposal than two weeks ago. Top scorer Carlton Cole returns to the starting line-up after recovering from injury, while Tomkins and Stanislas are also available for selection. This leaves Kieron Dyer and Heirta Ilunga as the only injured players at the moment and it’s been a while since Zola had just two players on the sidelines. This will be extremely important clash for both teams since they are still struggling to escape the dangerous zone and we don’t think either of the sides will risk too much. Burnley vs Aston Villa Premier League, England Match date: Saturday, Nov 21, 2009 Stadium: Turf Moor Burnley picked up their first point away from home having held City to 3:3 draw and they are now aiming to keep the impressive home record. Aston Villa hammered Bolton after losing to West Ham in midweek and they are now sitting in 5th place. The Clarets are doing extremely well this season, especially at their Turf Moor but they even managed to pick up a point from Manchester City in the last round. One thing is certain, Burnley are getting the most out of every single goal they score since the team are sitting in 9th place despite boasting third worst goal difference in the Premiership. Owen Coyle’s side have won all but one home game this season but they definitely face a tough task against one of the best defences in the league. Therefore, we see a good value in backing . Burnley are aware they need to keep up the rich vein of form at Turf Moor if they are to remain above the relegation zone and we expect them to go all guns blazing at Aston Villa. Their adventurous approach will leave the visitors a lot of space to exploit, thus we are likely to see a lot of goals even in the first period. No less than 10 goals were scored in the first halves of their last 4 home games and we therefore see a good value in betting on . Aston Villa recovered well from the poor start of the season and they look ready to have another go at the top 4 finish. The 5:1 trashing of Bolton proved they were slowly raising their form and the game against Burnley is a good opportunity for another victory. Martin O’Neill has got plenty of attacking potential in Carew, Agbonlahor, Young and Milner, thus they could be the second team to triumph at Turf Moor this season. We therefore see a great value in backing . The international break did no harm to Martin O’Neill since Stephen Warnock and Ashley Young played almost no part in England’s friendly with Brazil, while Luke Young opted to retire from international duty. Emile Heskey and James Collins missed out through injuries but they look likely to recover in time to face Burnley. We should therefore see a similar side that started the Bolton game, with only Collins stepping in for Luke Young, which means Cuellar will return to right-back position. With all due respect to Burnley’s excellent home record, they don’t look like the team that can get something against Aston Villa. The Villans again believe they can mount a serious top 4 challenge and we expect them to win this match as their sheer quality should do the trick. Liverpool vs Manchester City Premier League, England Match date: 21 Nov 2009 Stadium: Anfield Liverpool are sitting in 7th place at the moment and they are already out of the title race but they simply have to win this game in order to gain the upper hand in the top 4 race. City have experienced some problems lately but the win over struggling Liverpool could be just what they need to kick-start their league campaign. This season is threatening to turn into an utter disappointment for the Reds since Rafa Benitez’s side are struggling in all the competitions entered. They are on the verge of elimination from the Champions League, while the Premiership campaign gives the fans no reason for optimism either. The reality is Liverpool will have to fight for the top 4 place with Manchester City, which makes this match extremely important. Even though City boast some excellent players, they are still far from looking like the team and we believe Rafa Benitez’s side will eventually clinch the top 4 place. Therefore, you should back .Rafa Benitez has received a welcoming boost since Gerrard, Agger and Johnson have started training and they are expected to be fit for the City game. That will be a big boost for the Reds, even though Torres, Riera and Benayoun are not expected to be back before the derby clash with Everton next weekend. In the absence of Torres, David Ngog is expected to start as a lone striker even though he suffered a broken nose on international duty. The young Frenchman has already proven his goalscoring potential and you should be aware . Manchester City have suffered a big dip in form that saw them draw five consecutive league games and they are now in danger of slipping down the Premiership ladder. The Citizens allowed both Fulham and Burnley to take a point each from the City of Manchester Stadium after conceding in the final stages of the game and that is something Mark Hughes will have to find cure for. The visitors are looking to take advantage of Liverpool’s problems and win the game if possible, thus they are unlikely to discard the attacking approach. With players like Adebayor, Bellamy and Tevez up front, we see a great value in backing . After quite a while, mark Hughes will have full squad to choose from because both Robinho and Onuoha has recovered from their respective injuries, although neither of them is expected to be named in the starting line-up. As we have already said, City are eager to end the five-match winless run and they won’t be afraid to attack out-of-form Liverpool.Liverpool will have Gerrard and Johnson back, which will be a big boost for the hosts but we are not convinced they have what it takes to win this game.
