We learned earlier this summer that the EV will use a 100 kW / 134 hp motor from UQM . This week, BorgWarner announced that its eGearDrive single-speed transmission will find a home under the hood of the electric vehicle, which will be introduced in California next year. The Coda sedan will use BorgWarner's 31-03 eGearDrive, which BorgWarner says is "ideally suited" for electric drive vehicles. The highway-speed Coda Sedan will likely not be the only model to use this transmission, which is adaptable to a variety of systems, says BorgWarner Drivetrain Systems president and general manager John Sanderson.
