Lovers of factory hot rods have some good news today: Aston Martin confirms that the V-12 Vantage will be sold in the U.S. beginning this fall. The V-12 Vantage combines the automaker's largest engine with its smallest model.Last summer, Aston CEO Ulrich Bez had suggested the car -- presently a European exclusive -- could possibly make its way stateside. Building upon those remarks, Bez told us this week that the car is coming, and will launch in the fourth quarter of 2010.The largest hurdle, we're told, was crash testing. Stuffing the large 510-horsepower 6.0-liter V-12 into the smaller Vantage meant there was less crush space up front, and Aston proclaimed at its launch that the car wouldn't meet federal impact standards. Bez says the company's engineers crafted a solution that doesn't modify the Vantage's styling, and the car passed crash testing last week.Expect pricing for the V-12 Vantage to start north of $200,000, and while you're waiting for the car... details >>>
