Making money from your blog, while not the hardest thing you've ever done, may well not be the easiest either! If you're just starting out online, I would suggest a Blogspot blog. Blogger is owned by Google and is very easy to set-up, add content to, and monetize, especially with AdSense, as you might suspect. The best way to get to blogging is with your own hosted blog from Wordpress.org. The feeling is these hosted blogs get "more respect" so to speak from the search engines, and I feel there is some truth to this. If you don't want to part with about $10.00 a month for hosting (cheap!) than a Blogger blog where it's at. Regardless of which platform you decide to use, the best way to start (I think) is to choose a niche (the subject of your blog) that you have some interest in, or better yet are passionate about.
