The debutant daughter of a wealthy Memphis owner, Fisher Willow returns home from overseas after her studies. Fisher takes immense pleasure in shocking and insulting the narrow-minded elite who worship the ground her father walks on. Soon she finds herself swept off her feet by a lowly farmhand Jimmy. Jimmy-the son of an alcoholic father and a mother gone insane, is destined to go nowhere until the day Fisher hires him as her escort to a lavish party.
