What are the danger's of giving out an account # to complete an online transaction?

I sell things on eBay often and sometimes large things like cars and trucks and lately with all the fake cashier's checks thing going on, I've been accepting payment by wire transfer. Though to recieve money you have to give the buyer the name of your bank, your name, account # and routing #. One of the personal bankers at my bank warned me about giving out my account #, I think he said people could make out fake checks with your account # but didn't exactly say what the other possible danger's of doing so could be. So I have been receiving wires to an account that I never keep any money in, but I'm still wondering if this is safe or if there is some other potential danger in giving someone your account #?
